About the Business
Rayner and Taylor is an independant opticians situated in the heart of Brighton in the North Laine area. Although we have been here since 1993 there has been an opticians on this site since the 1930's. The practice is owned by Huntly Taylor a dispensing and contact lens optician. When Huntly is away from the practice dispensing optician Sheila Jaile is in attendance thus ensuring wherever possible you will always be attended to by a qualified professional. Huntly and Sheila trained together more years ago than either of them care to remember! Receptionist Pat Smith who has been at the practice for over thirty years completes our small team. This ensures that whenever you visit the practice you will see the same recognisable friendly faces. However please bear in mind we have to take holidays sometimes. Eye examinations, NHS and private, are carried out by both Optometrists and Ophthalmic Medical Practitioners (OMP'S). Optometrists are opticians qualified to test sight and examine eyes.
